  This Source Sought Synopsis (SSS) is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for the qualification and production of TRUCK, LIFT, TELESCOPING MAST, CONTAINER HANDLER, DIESEL-ENGINE- DRIVEN, PNEUMATIC-TIRED, 53,000-POUND CAPACITY, ROUGH TERRAIN for use by the U.S. Air Force.

 Contractors/Institutions responding to this SSS are placed on notice that participation in this questionnaire is strictly voluntary. Respondents are neither obligated to participate in future solicitations nor are they guaranteed any contract awards.  The Government will not reimburse participants for any expenses associated with their participation in this survey. 


 Below is a brief description of the container handler.  If after reviewing these documents, you desire to participate in the SSS you should provide documentation that supports your company's capability in meeting these requirements.  As part of this SSS the specification used in the procurement of the container handler is attached.  Best Estimated Quantities (BEQs) for this acquisition are for 5 ea. Container handler (FY) 19-23.

 Container Handler Description:


 The truck will primarily be used to lift, transport, and stack International Standards Organization (ISO) containers and sea/land containers of 20 foot length, 10 foot Bicon containers, and 6.5' Tricon containers on paved and semi-improved surfaces.  In standard configuration, the truck will be equipped with a top-handling attachment. In standard configuration, the truck will have the capability to lift, transport, and stack loads (not including attachment) up to 53,000 pounds at a 61-inch horizontal load center to a lift height of 396-inches and 27,500 pounds at a 151-inch horizontal load center to a lift height of 396-inches.
