Surplus Scrap Metals
The purpose of this Invitation for Bid (IFB) is to solicit bids for the establishment of a requirements
contract for pick-up, removal and recycling of surplus scrap metals (scrap) from various
County operations.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The County currently generates approximately 100 tons (200,000 pounds) of scrap annually from various
County operations. The scrap consists of, but is not limited to, steel, cast iron, copper, aluminum, brass
and lead which is stored at six (6) sites identified hereunder.
The contractor shall pick-up and remove all scrap from each site on a quarterly basis, or, on an on call
or as needed basis and either deliver all scrap to a certified recycler of such scrap materials in strict
conformance to all terms and conditions outlined in this IFB or re-sell the scrap as applicable.
