The Strategic Systems Programs intends to contract with The Charles Stark Draper Laboratories Inc., (CSDL) Cambridge, MA to provide technical and engineering services. The contractor shall provide strategic guidance, navigation, and control (GN&C) subject matter expertise to research and develop current and maturing concepts and technologies that will enable follow-on, full-scale development of the 2nd Life Extension (D5LE2) of the Navy's TRIDENT II (D5) Strategic Weapon System (SWS). The contractor shall perform research into alternate system architectures and concepts of operation, including their enabling technologies, to inform future evolutions of the TRIDENT II (D5) SWS and its deterrence mission from a strategic GN&C perspective. The contractor shall provide specialized technical knowledge of Model Based Engineering (MBE) and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts to further develop SSP's Systems Engineering (SE) capabilities and competencies. The contractor shall provide specialized technical knowledge to research and develop new and alternate GN&C technologies and concepts supporting hypersonic flight experiments as well as miniaturized inertial and non-inertial navigation aids.
