The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has jurisdiction under the Dodd-Frank Act of 2010 to conduct investigations and litigation to prevent unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts and practices in the offer or provision of consumer financial products or services. Enforcement is authorized to employ a range of investigatory tools, including the power to compel documents and testimony by issuing civil investigative demands, to seek potential remedies through administrative proceedings or civil actions that include cease-and-desist-orders, equitable relief, rescission and reformation of contracts, monetary relief, and civil penalties. Paralegal and legal assistant staff support the investigative and litigation work performed by Enforcement attorney staff.
CFPB is seeking a Contractor to provide training to support staff, paralegals and legal assistants, in litigation basics, legal research and research tools, and legal and business writing. The Contractor shall provide a fifteen (15) week (4 hour per day, one day per week), sixty (60) hour customized training course. Training will be delivered by experienced instructors, who have significant work and teaching backgrounds in the curriculum areas listed below, at a Metro-accessible location in or near the District of Columbia.
