The Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR), on behalf of the University of Arizona, is soliciting proposals
from interested vendors to furnish the University with a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
system.
This request for proposals addresses a SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system to monitor the
University of Arizona domestic water system parameters and provide centralized system control. The SCADA system shall
be designed and constructed to allow:
Centralized monitoring of all critical system parameters, including well and city water booster pump production,
distribution system pressures, power consumption and equipment status.
Centralized control of pumps and sequencing of pumps to maintain optimal distribution system pressures, while
minimizing purchase of water from City of Tucson (COT).
Accurate and timely trending and reporting of water consumption and electrical power consumption for each of the
pumps in the system (well or COT booster).
Real time display of system parameters, including pump rates, power consumption, pressure distribution and
equipment status.
Archiving of system parameters for later analysis, trouble-shooting, and reporting.
Enhanced security of well and booster station compounds through video surveillance and online water quality
monitoring
The proposal shall address design, equipment specification, and construction of the SCADA system and its components.
The SCADA System shall be designed to interface with and exploit the functionality of existing University hardware and
software assets, where practical. This is to include a Data Historian system currently being procured by University or
Arizona, Facilities Management.
