Childhood obesity is a serious public health crisis in the United States. One child in every three is overweight, and childhood obesity carries with it significant economic, academic, and health costs. Therefore, the HLOC is interested in supporting the enhancement or expansion of proven school-based and community programs that have evidence of positive health improvements in children.
