Marin County Community Mental Health Services (CMHS) requests proposals for a Student Assistance Program to be implemented at Martin Luther King Middle School. Student Assistance Programs (SAPs) are a process for providing services that assist students in overcoming barriers to learning. SAPs have been shown to reduce school violence and substance abuse while increasing school attendance, academic performance, and access to services. Marin County CMHS has a maximum of $60,000 available annually to cover the expenses incurred under a contract to be awarded as a result of this RFP. The estimated start date for the program is May 15, 2009.
