Structural repair and restoration in accordance with the U.S. Department of Interior’s “Standards for Historic Vessel Preservation”. The interior structure of the Ship shall be strengthened to withstand the weights of internal machinery and to improve scantlings/shell plating to withstand the effects of progressive flooding and/or grounding. As available funding permits, the Ship will be made as water and/or weather-tight as appropriate and approved. The Ship cannot be moved from her current location for the repairs. All repairs must be executed with the ship in place. The Ship is a historic artifact and great care must be taken to ensure the cultural significance of the ship is not compromised.
