Strategic Planning Process for Private Jewish Day School in downtown Toronto

Ontario, Canada
Education
RFP

Paul Penna Downtown Jewish Day School is seeking a consultant(s) to support its strategic planning process. The consultant will work with a strategic planning committee in planning, analysing, undertaking, and finalizing the process.

Founded in 1998, Paul Penna DJDS is a vibrant Jewish day school committed to academic excellence in a dynamic environment. The school is dedicated to social justice and Tikkun Olam (Repairing the World), and its distinct program integrates Judaic and general studies while encouraging artistic expression as a tool for learning.

The school has grown from 10 to 150 students since its opening, and until 2006 offered an SK-Grade 6 experience (one class per grade). In 2006, Grades 7 & 8 were added, and in 2011, a second SK class was added. It is hopeful that the double cohort started last year will continue into the future. The school is a not-for-profit organization, and is housed in a community centre facility. While the school is very excited about these changes, the future of Grades 7 & 8 must now be re-considered due to space, enrolment and funding issues. Grades 7 & 8 will be offered in 2012-13, and the short, medium and long-term future of these grades will be examined as part of this strategic planning process.

The strategic planning exercise aims to enhance the realization of the school's vision and mission, and examine other issues that that school will encounter as it grows.

Candidates are encouraged to visit the school's website, www.djds.ca, to obtain further information about Paul Penna DJDS.
