Stormcrow RFI
The National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) Systems Engineering Directorate (SED) has released a Request for Information (RFI) on the Acquisition Research Center (ARC) website, http://acq.westfields.net, to solicit best practices, capabilities, and interest for potential acquisition. The RFI does not constitute (by itself) a Request for Proposal (RFP), and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government.
SED is in the process of transitioning from traditional document-centric systems engineering processes applied at the Enterprise level, to a model-based approach that will be executed and managed in a digital environment. To enable this transition, SED is seeking an understanding of industry capabilities and best practices from existing efforts and practical experience or comparable modeling endeavors. As such, SED is conducting market research to understand the current state-of-the-art of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Industry capabilities with a focus towards Enterprise application.
SED will employ an approach to evolve a systems model through its lifecycle. The end goal is to construct, maintain, and evolve an integrated model of the NRO Enterprise from the capability level down to the system component level. This model will be at multiple security levels and caveats and will eventually replace traditional architecture diagrams, requirements, CONOPs documents, and will be delivered to system developers for use in acquisition activities.
This ARC website, http://acq.westfields.net, will function as an information clearinghouse, providing overall Stormcrow RFI updates and announcements. All communication for the RFI will take place through this ARC website. Questions/comments regarding this RFI can be submitted via the "Q&A" tab on this website until 1300 on 9 Sept 2019.
