Stone Laboratory Research Facility Improvements
The Ohio Sea Grant program has been located at the Stone Laboratory Research Center and Stone
Laboratory since 1925. The Ohio State Universitys Stone Laboratory Research Center, located on South
Bass Island, and Stone Laboratory, located on Gibraltar Island, require interior renovations. The Stone Laboratory Research Center renovations will incorporate current lab functions with upgrades to equipment,furniture, and finishes. Emphasis will be placed on flow-through holding tanks for fish and aquatic organisms. Stone Laboratorys design scope will include finishes and furniture for instructional classrooms,research laboratories, and facility computer room. Stone Laboratory Research Centers improvements will include upgrades to the existing flow-through tanks and laboratory furniture. The Research Center is used for multiple operations and importance of flexibility with the upgraded equipment and furnishes will be crucial. Stone Laboratory will require FF&E upgrades for instructional classrooms, a computer room, and general classrooms. With all improvements we will be seeking to incorporate environmentally friendly practices and products, such as recycling of new product packaging, eco-friendly finishes, etc.
