The State of New Mexico Spaceport Authority is seeking proposals from qualified firms to conduct archaeological data recovery investigations at four (4) archaeological sites, located within the Area of Potential Effects (APE) on New Mexico State Trust Land and private land, for the Spaceport America Project, an undertaking subject to consultation per Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA). A draft data recovery plan for the four archaeological sites-all of which have been determined as "eligible" to the National Register of Historic Places, and all of which will be adversely affected by proposed construction-has been prepared and is under review by the agencies involved in the Section 106 consultation. This plan will guide the current proposed fieldwork, as well as all future archaeological fieldwork that will take place at Spaceport.
