The solicitation and any resultant contract will be a stewardship project in accordance with Section 323 of Public Law 108-7 (16 U.S.C. 2104 Note, as revised February 28, 2003 to reflect sec. 323 of J.J. Res 2 as enrolled), the Consolidated Appropriations Resolution, 2003, amending Public Law 105-277 sec 347.

This project is being advertised for full and open competition.


This acquisition has been tailored to fit the Governments need for trading goods for services. The South Rim Hazard Tree Stewardship Project is located on the Groveland Ranger District, Stanislaus National Forest. Designated trees will be treated by a combination of activities including mechanical or hand felling, dozer piling, grapple piling, hand piling, skidding to roadside landing locations and/or decked for removal as chips or in log form. The project includes hazard tree units, fuels reduction treatments units and biomass removal units. The hazard tree units consist of 3.2 miles of mandatory units and 15.3 miles of optional units. The fuels reduction treatments units consist of 81.5 acers. The biomass removal is estimated at 1,382 tons of mandatory biomass removal and 10,389 tons of optional biomass and hazard tree removal.


Project Location - The South Rim Hazard Tree Contract is located in multiple section within Townships 1 South, Range 18 and 19E; and Township 2 South, Range 19E, Mount Diablo Baseline and Meridian. The project area is located within the Tuolumne County on the Groveland Ranger District of the Stanislaus National Forest.


The solicitation package will be uploaded approximately December 21st, 2018. The date of award is expected to be within 60 days after the actual response date, which will be stated in the package and is subject to change with amendments to the solicitation. The contractors are encouraged to visit the site prior to the response date. A prebid meeting is scheduled to be held at the site on November 15th, 2018 and will meet at the Groveland Ranger District Office at 0900. The Groveland Ranger District Office is located at 24545 Highway 120, Groveland, CA 95321.
