The Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) is consolidating data centers into a single data center for the site. The purpose of this procurement is to purchase a single performance optimized data center to house computer systems and associated components integral to NNSS's IT needs. The data center will be an essential part of the NNSS maintaining business continuity as NNSS organizations increasingly rely on information systems to run and manage their operations. This data center will maintain integrated security, power, utility, and communications infrastructure including the redundant mechanical cooling/heating, ventilation and air conditioning power systems including battery backup (uninterrupted power system and emergency power generators).

The purchase of this data center will allow the NNSS to meet or exceed the following objectives in securing NNSS communications and networking capabilities:

1) Preservation of core infrastructure to ensure site viability. Continuity of site and mission operations as the NNSS demands investment to replace deteriorating, technically obsolete facilities and support infrastructure.

2) Consolidation of data computing and communications (server, network, and telecommunications) into a single, modern, reliable, secure location at the NNSS forward area, closer to key mission activities,

3) Transition of NNSS communications from obsolete infrastructure, copper wire based technology onto a highly efficient, modern, fiber optic network.

4) Consolidation of multiple data center operations from ~6,200 square feet of facilities into an energy efficient <1,000 square foot data center enabling cost savings from reduced energy consumption, operations and maintenance costs.
