AN/ARC-231 is capable of using line-of-sight (LOS) ultra high-frequency (UHF) and very high-frequency (VHF) bands with AM, FM, SATCOM, and Integrated Waveform capabilities. The contract will support AH-64, UH-60, CH-47, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), and Fixed Wing production lines, initial fielding of the National Security Agency (NSA) mandated Cryptographic Modernization (CM), integration of the anticipated Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) radio waveform, sustainment requirements (logistical support), and engineering services (such as future AN/ARC-231 MARS system upgrades or updates). FFP Delivery Orders will be issued for the AN/ARC-231 MARS hardware components. CPFF task orders will be issued for engineering support services. The upgraded CM/ MUOS capable radio will be fielded to replace previously installed legacy versions and support aircraft production lines.
