Sole Source Requirement for Mobile Radiation System
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Acquisition Management (OAM), Emergency Response Service Center (ERSC) on behalf of the Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response (OSWER) and under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 using NAICS:423490 intends to award a sole source purchase order to Radiation Solutions, Inc for a RS-700 Series Mobile Radiation Detection System. This system is solely manufactured ,marketed, distributed and warrantied by Radiation Solutions. Procurement of this system is necessary to provide the agency with additional radiological response readiness capability for the EPA Environmental Response Team in Cincinnati, OH. This system is also compatible with previously acquired equipment which provides a force multiplier for evaluation of contaminated areas. The data collected by this technology will provide On-Scene Coordinators, Health Physicist, Toxicologists and Federal Health experts with ready access to radiological specific inf ormations to facilitate decision making during radiological or nuclear terrorism, nuclear power plant disasters, non terrorism radiological environmental emergency responses, and other CERCLA removal or remedial actions. The EPA knows of no other vendor capable of providing such equipment. If there are any vendors capable of providing the aforementioned equipment, please submit proof of such along with a quote by July 8, 2014 to the Contracting Officer of record at: [email protected].
