Single Sterile Catheter
THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. Reference #: N0025917N0078. Naval Medical Center San Diego intends to award a firm fixed price sole source contract under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), only one responsible source, to: Penumbra, Inc.; 1351 Harbor Bay Parkway.; Alameda, CA, 94502. The objective of this sole source award is to procure single sterile catheter supplies for a Penumbra Embolectomy Aspiration System to treat neurovascular disease and assist in medication treatment of Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA).
Catheter Characteristics must include:
1. FDA approved
2. Nonsurgical
3. Sterile, single-use intravascular catheter
4. Flexible soft braided tip
5. Catheter must be range from .64 to .071 inner diameter and have 2 wires in place at once
6. Mechanical Thrombectomy Catheter inner limen diameter must be .35
7. Sales representative must be present for the procedure
Penumbra, Inc. is the sole distributor of the needed items. The NAICS code for this requirement is 339113; the small business size standard is 750 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. All information received by 08:00 AM Pacific Time on June 02, 2017 may be considered by the Government.
Responses shall be submitted to Christopher Jennen at christopher.j.jennen.civ@mail.mil. The email subject line shall state: "Naval Medical Center San Diego, Intent to Award Sole Source to Penumbra, Inc." A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
