The U.S. Army, Army Contracting Command, New Jersey (ACC-NJ) on behalf of the U.S. Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), located at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ has a requirement for a Complete Simultaneous Thermal Analyzer (STA, TG-DSC/DTA) with required couplings for evolved gass analysis using a Thermo Nicolet is50 FTIR and Thermo Nicolet's TGA-IR module. The system must have following minimum specifications:

1. Simultaneous Thermal Analyzer (STA) with the following minimum specifications:

a. Operation in Accordance with the Following Standards:

i. ASTM E967
ii. ASTM E968
iii. ASTM E793
iv. DINS 51004
v. DINS 51006
vi. DINS 51007

b. Temperature range: room temperature to 1600⁰C

c. Temperature resolution: .001K

d. Balance drift: <5μg/h

e. Heating rates: 0.001 to 50K/min

f. Microbalance resolution: 0.1μg over a range of 35g

g. Vacuum tightness: 1 x 10-2 mbar

h. Atmospheres: static, dynamic, inert, and oxidizing

i. Integrated mass flow controllers: 3 with 0-250 ml/min range and increments of 1ml/min

j. Evacuation: rotary vane pump

k. Analysis workstation and all require software licenses

2. Refrigerated circulating bath with required capacity for STA cooling

3. 8 substance DSC/TGA calibration kit for enthalpy and temperature calibration from ambient temperature to 1500⁰C

4. Adaptor and temperature controller for connection to Thermo Nicolet's TGA-IR module

5. Aluminum oxide sample crucibles:

a. 100 x 0.3 mL

b. 10 x 0.085 mL with Lids

6. TG-DTA sample carrier

7. Shipping, installation, training, and 1 year warranty

The Government intends to conduct a competition for this requirement amongst existing Small Business, Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) holders with a single, firm fixed, call order being placed.
