The VISN 10 Network Contracting Office (NCO), Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical, Cleveland, Ohio intends to negotiate a sole source contract with S.S. WHITE TECHNOLOGIES INC DBA Shukla Medical. This is for the acquisition of 2 EA Hip Extraction Systems for use in the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center.
The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 339112. The Government believes that Shukla Medical. is the only SB provider that can satisfy the requirements of the agency. Therefore, the Government intends to proceed with a sole source for the required equipment. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302 only one responsible source and no other vendor will satisfy agency requirements. To the best of our knowledge, Shukla Medical is the only source that can provide the above indicated equipment. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available; however, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within three (3) business days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer via email at christopher.callihan@va.gov. Responses received will be evaluated however a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, on or before COB October 20, 2017, the VA will proceed with the sole source award to Shukla Medical for the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center.

Shukla Instruments provide;
Cam-lock extractors that universally adapts to a wide range of hip stem designs.
Applies impaction force in line with implant stem to reduce unnecessary stresses on femur.
Increased grip strength designed to prevent slipping off trunnion.
C-Frame and mallet allows increased impaction force for easier removal of well-fixed components and allowing greater control and stability.
Separate modular-neck hip stem extractor that is designed to securely attach to most modular stems with quick assembly in OR and disassembly in SPS per VHA Directive 1116 (2).
Shukla Instruments are capable of;
Removing damaged, stripped and Seized bone screws, 2-8 mm broken screw and 2-7mm stripped screw.
Providing a wide range of frequently used bone-screw tip configurations (i.e. hex, torx, cruciform, flat, phillips) and include solid and flexible driver shafts that are ergonomic with ratcheting handles.
These instruments are needed for Advanced Hip Revision Surgeries and Revision Fracture Surgeries.
THIS SYNOPSIS DOES NOT COMMIT THE GOVERNMENT TO CONTRACT FOR ANY SUPPLY OR SERVICE. THE GOVERNMENT WILL NOT PAY FOR ANY INFORMATION OR ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS INCURRED IN RESPONSE TO THIS SYNOPSIS.
