Shelter Care Placement Options for Juveniles
The Division is seeking proposals for Shelter Care Services for Juveniles in Region I, which includes Cumberland and York Counties.
The program will provide short term placements for youth who are at risk of out of home placement due to family conflict or other crises. It will also serve youth who are run-a- ways or at risk of running away and will be used as an alternative to secure detention. The primary object of the program is to make available a safe structured setting for youth to stay on a temporary basis not to exceed an average of 7 days until the current situation has been stabilized or a more permanent placement has been located. All emergency placements must be licensed as a child placing facility / home by the Department.
