Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (12)
The following specifications describe the minimum requirements for Self Contained Breathing
Apparatus (12). The Apparatus shall be new, manufactured the same year or succeeding year of
bid, of current design and production model and available to the commercial market. The City of
Seguin is looking to purchase 12 Open circuit, self-contained breathing apparatus consisting of
the following major sub-assemblies: cylinder and valve assembly for storing breathing air under
pressure; full facepiece assembly; an automatic dual path redundant pressure reducing regulator;
a removable, face piece-mounted, positive pressure breathing regulator with air-saver switch,
low-pressure alarm and purge valve; a harness and back frame assembly for supporting the
equipment on the body of the wearer; a shoulder strap mounted, remote gauge indicating
cylinder pressure; a heads-up display redundant low-pressure alarm; a rapid intervention crew/
universal air connection; and certified to the NIOSH Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and
Nuclear (CBRN) standard. Any additions, deletions or variations from the following
specifications must be noted or the bid will be rejected. Standard items appearing in the
manufacturers published specifications furnished by the bidder shall be included in the bid
unless otherwise noted. One copy of the manufacturers published specification shall be included
with the bid. Bids are to meet or exceed the specifications listed herein.
