All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government.
The purpose of this Sources Sought is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities and qualifications of vendors who can successfully support this requirement. This will also be used to identify qualified small business concerns. The contemplated type of solicitation that will be issued will depend upon the responses to this Sources Sought and other information available to the Government.
Responses must clearly demonstrate qualifications, capability and expertise to deliver the requirement. Responses to this Sources Sought will be considered as part of the market research that will be used to develop the acquisition strategy to satisfy this potential requirement.
The 21st Contracting Squadron, Peterson AFB, CO is conducting market research to acquire table saws and accessories in contractor models, professional models and industrial-grade models. Of high importance is the capability/technology enabling the saws to quickly sense the presence of flesh and subsequently stopping the machine from operating; thus, preventing injury to the operator. Vendors who deem themselves capable of providing saws with this capability/technology shall thoroughly illustrate their machine's capabilities (i.e. response times involved in detecting flesh, subsequent shut off of the blade, different model types, accessories, etc.).
The following list is not inclusive of all saws and accessories, but will highlight the main components needed to fulfill this requirement at equal or better quality and capability (NOTE: All accessories shall be fully interchangeable with each saw-type):
