The Gainesville, FL VA Medical Center has a requirement for a Sternal Saw(s) for use in CT Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) cases.
This requirement specified a battery powered saw with an inclusive electric backup which allows the saw to be used without nitrous hoses, using an electric cord in case the batteries have failed to charge properly.
Included in this requirement are compatible sternum saw guard(s), battery chargers, sterilization case(s), direct power console and cables, blades and miscellaneous accessories as identified on the enclosed list.
This solicitation is being conducted as a "Brand Name or Equal" solicitation using the Microaire 7800 sternal saw system as the base line. See item listing in RFQ VA248-14-Q-1333 for stock numbers and details. Vendors submitting offers of other items must submit, with their offer, documentation which clearly establishes to the satisfaction of the Contracting Officer that the equipment offered meets or exceeds the capability of the brand name item(s) specified as defined in the salient characteristics listed in the RFQ. Offers for "Equal" items which do not include sufficient documentation may be precluded from consideration.
