SRP has announced a request for proposals (RFP) for electricity generated from utility-scale, ground-based solar photovoltaic power plants, preferably located somewhere in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area.
The solicitation seeks to add up to a total of 50 megawatts of ground mounted PV capacity in the third quarter of 2012 and up to an additional 50 MW in the third quarter of 2013. Individual projects that have a capacity of between five and 20 MW are preferred.
