The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) intends to procure on a sole source basis with Boston University Medical Campus, 85 East Newton Street, M-921, Boston, MA 02118-2340 to provide the Slone Drug Dictionary Software and Licenses.

The Slone Drug Dictionary is a computerized system developed and maintained by the Slone Epidemiology Center of Boston University. Updated monthly, the Slone Drug Dictionary currently contains over 17,000 entries for single entity medicinal agents and over 12,000 multi-component products. The dictionary has the capacity to classify new products while retaining historical information on formulation changes. It also contains entries which may not appear in many commercial databases, including international drug names, compounded medications, dietary supplements, and investigational drugs.


In compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b) Soliciting from a single source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however; all responses received, before the closing date, of this announcement will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. It is anticipated that the RFQ NIH-NICHD-15-025 will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. All interested parties to this solicitation may request a copy of the RFQ package in writing to the attention of Ms. Patricia Haun at Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), 6100 Executive Blvd., Room 5C01, Rockville, MD 20852 or via email Haunp@mail.nih.gov. All requests must contain offerors name, address, telephone number and fax number. Email addresses are encouraged but not mandatory
