No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any information requests. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation.

The USDA, Forest Service, Shoshone National Forest, North Zone (Clarks Fork, Wapati & Greybull Ranger Districts) is planning to solicit the implementation of a large wood based bank stabilization project at the Wood River Campground on the Shoshone National Forest. The contract has two main components for consideration: 1) Harvest, storage, and transport of the large wood materials, and 2) Bank stabilization and floodplain restoration for approximately 400 feet of stream.


The work includes material gathering (e.g., logs, logs with rootfans, gravel, etc.), material haul, clearing, excavation, use of temporary access trails, construction of log structures, placement of borrow materials, dewatering, construction and placement of erosion control devices, grading and surfacing campground, and completing land rehab needs.


The Wood River Campground is located approximately 23 miles southwest of Meeteetse, Wyoming (Park County) traveling on WY-290 and the Wood River Road (County Road 4DT) onto the Shoshone National Forest. The wood material source provided by the Forest Service is located approximately seven miles upstream of the Wood River Campground. The staging areas are located at the Middle Fork Wood River Trailhead and the South Fork Wood River Trailhead which are each within approximately one mile of the campground.


Services performed under this contract are to be performed during the 2019 construction season. Collection of the wood materials will take place during spring/early summer and the campground preparation, bank stabilization and soil stabilization/revegetation and campground finishing will take place in late summer/early fall.


Magnitude of Project (per FAR 36.204(b)): Between $100,000 to $250,000.


The type of set-aside decision to be issued will depend upon the capabilities of the responses to this sources sought announcement.


The purpose of this Sources Sought announcement is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities and qualifications of various members of industry, to include the Small Business Community: Small Historically Business, Section 8(a), Underutilized Business Zones (HUB-Zone), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and Economically Disadvantage Woman-Owned Small Business. The Government must ensure there is adequate competition among the potential pool of responsible contractors. Small business, Section 8(a), HUB Zone, EDWOSB and SDVOSB are highly encouraged to participate.


Firm's response to this Sources Sought Announcement shall be limited to five (5) pages and shall include the following information:


1. Vendor name, address, point of contact, phone number, and email address.
2. Vendor's interest in submitting a proposal when the requirement is synopsized.
3. Vendor's capability to provide similar/same type of work. Provide at least three (3) examples.
4. Firm's Business Size (include DUNS #)
5. Firm's Joint Venture (existing), including Mentor Protégés and teaming arrangement information is acceptable.
