the Organization is soliciting invitations for bids on a storage area network (SAN) device that will provide a virtualized pool of storage resources to deliver functionality that enhances virtual environments, simplifies management and reduces costs. The device will work with customized software designed as a document management system to be utilized in our Workforce Solutions Centers. A storage area network (SAN) is a dedicated network that provides access to consolidated, block level data storage. SANs are primarily used to make storage devices, such as disk arrays, and tape libraries, accessible to servers so that the devices appear like locally attached devices to the operating system. A SAN typically has its own network of storage devices that are generally not accessible through the local area network by other devices.
