This federally funded project will remove and replace the roofing system and flashing work at the Camp Denali (Anchorage) Readiness Center on Fort Richardson, Alaska (roof area approximately 102,500 square feet). The existing roof system consists of pavers, insulation, membrane and gypsum board. There are no asbestos-containing materials that need to be removed and disposed. The new roof system consists of substrate board, a vapor retarder, rigid roof insulation, a cover board, and a styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) modified bituminous roofing membrane. Other work involves removing the gypsum board behind the wall flashings and providing a liquid vapor retarder, batt insulation and gypsum substrate board.
