The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Roche Diagnostics for reagents and consumables. The materials and reagents requested comply with standards of the CDC Dengue Branch molecular laboratory and are compatible with the equipment specification. The materials and reagents requested are compatible and compliant with the Roche MagNA Pure 96 and the MagNA Pure LC instruments and the CDC Trioplex RT-PCR Assay for the molecular diagnosis of Zika, Dengue and Chicungunya viruses and is approved by the FDA under an Emergency Use Authorization. No other materials/reagents or brand has been validated for this use nor are compatible with this automated system. These brand and model of reagents and supplies have been validated because they rendered the highest and most sensitive laboratory results for virus detection.

The selected products were selected because the specific brand and model are the only products compatible with current laboratory equipment (Roche MagNA Pure 96 and MagNA Pure LC) and protocols that have been proven to generate high quality data in molecular diagnostics research. These products have been validated by CDC and approved by the FDA under an Emergency Use Authorization. For this reason, no other products may be considered.

This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within six (6) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Any quotation/response should be emailed to William Brannen at VWL0@cdc.gov by 2:00 P.M. EST., December 20, 2018.
