Custom robotic pH analysis system having the following characteristics:
.The system must be capable of measuring the pH of at least 200 samples per hour excluding the rinse time and calibration time.
.The system must be equipped with a wash station for rinsing four pH electrodes between samples.
.Capable of accepting 3 existing 10 x 40 x 2 styrofoam racks having fifty-two 1 deep by 2⅛ diameter holes drilled on 2 centers to accept 3 oz. plastic Solo cups. Racks are to sit side by side. A picture of one single tray Fig 1) and a picture of side by side arrangement of three trays (Fig 2) are enclosed.
.A set of three actual styrofoam racks will be provided to the winning bidder to aid in getting the construction dimensions correct.
.The system must be equipped with a pH reading head holding four combination pH electrodes with companion stirrers and able to move in X, Y, Z direction to read the pH of four samples at a time. The reading head shall move down the length of a styrofoam sample rack (as specified in number 3 above), reading four samples simultaneously until all 48 samples in that rack have been read, return to the start position (or rinse position), move to the next rack and read all 48 samples and repeat until all three racks (144 samples) have been read.
.Frame to be made of 80/20 aluminum.
.The system must be equipped with travel rails and microstepping drivers to give smooth and accurate travel for the pH reading head and other moving .components.
.The system must have a wash station for rinsing four pH electrodes.
.The system must be equipped with a pH controller for interfacing with a personal computer running Windows XP operating system. The system must be upgradable, if necessary, to future Windows operating systems (Not Windows Vista.).
.The system shall be equipped with custom Windows graphical software to run in Windows XP operating environment. The software must be upgradable, if necessary, to run under future Windows operating systems (Not Windows Vista.).
.Software shall allow addressing any position in the X, Y, Z sample grid.
.Software shall allow the option of rinsing pH electrodes between each sample reading or rinsing only at the start of each 144 sample batch.
.Software shall allow reading data from or writing data directly to Microsoft Excel or an ASCII text file.
.Software must display all laboratory numbers and pH readings for 48 samples (One tray) on screen. Screen display to be refreshed at the start of the next tray of 48 samples.
