Rewrite of desktop application (OPSCAN) that manages test scoring
The University of North Carolina at Charlotte Information and Technology Services is seeking proposals for a rewrite of
the desktop application (OPSCAN) that manages test scoring and placement exams for the university.
The current application is being replaced for the following reasons:
- The current application was written in Microsoft Access 95/97 which is no longer supported by
Microsoft.
- The source code for the application is not available therefore changes cannot be made to the existing
system.
- There are "random bugs" in the system, which appear during the printing of the results.
- There are hardcoded values in the current application that must be changed prior to July 1, 2008.
As this is a complete rewrite of the existing software, Information and Technology Services will not supply the Access
MDE files or any screenshots from the existing application.
