Retail Market Study
The City is seeking the services of an experienced firm to conduct an independent, professional retail market study of the city. The study shall provide the following:
• Overview of the retail economy of Atchison, Kansas, including retail that draws shoppers into the community as well as retail leakage to other communities
• Consumer profiles of existing shoppers in Atchison as well as those who are shopping outside the community
• Identify tactics that existing retail stores could employ to capture leaked sales
• Identify gaps in the existing retail market that could be filled through recruitment of new stores
• Include cost estimates for firm to serve as a consultant to the City and actively recruit viable retailers
