The Foundation is seeking an intermediary to facilitate the development and coordination of our research agenda. As we implement our new strategic direction, which focuses on supporting student-centered learning as an avenue to dramatically increasing the educational achievement and attainment of secondary students, the Foundation is committed to building an emerging knowledge base through a series of research papers and related dissemination activities. The goal of this project is to gather existing research, develop new conceptual frameworks for understanding and applying findings, and share this information broadly and deeply with those in the field.

The intermediary organization chosen to lead this work will play a key role in facilitating the development of a broader research base as well as growing the field of student-centered learning. As such, we see this endeavor as a long-term project for the Foundation. In addition, we are working with a group of other philanthropic organizations with great interest in developing the field of student-centered learning, several of which may join us in this work over time.

All applicants must be eligible for grants from the Foundation. The Foundation supports 501 (c)(3) organizations that include higher education institutions, secondary schools, and other nonprofit organizations that fall under the tax designation 509(a)(1) or 509(a)(2) and have an education focus, as evidenced in their articles of incorporation. Only 501 (c)(3) organizations with the further designation of 501 (a) (1) or (2) are eligible to receive a Foundation grant.
