Through this Request for Qualifications process the DDA intends to review the qualifications of interested
parties who can assist the DDA in developing and implementing marketing strategies for Downtown
Miami. The selected consultant will be managed by DDA staff and will collaborate with the other master
plan consultants including the urban designer, transportation firm and economic research firm.
This group of qualified firms will assist the DDA in a variety of planning initiatives. The objective of the
DDA is to identify and implement strategies which will strengthen Downtowns position as a destination
for the market segments that it serves; recruit and retain appropriate retail, restaurant and lodging
facilities; increase and enhance pedestrian activity; ensure adequate public service delivery for new
residents and businesses; develop branding and placemaking strategies for each of the districts; promote
the growth of art and culture; and improve traffic management as well as transit services and linkages.
In addition, through this team the DDA will address the economic impact of recent and proposed
development projects; the cost of implementing various development strategies; as well as identify viable
funding sources to accomplish program objectives.
