The City Department of Community Development (DCD) is seeking proposals for the purchase and redevelopment of a one- acre site at Clybourn and Division streets as mix-income rental housing.
The goal of the Request for Proposals (RFP) is the development of a high quality residential or mixed-use structure that con- tains 50 percent market rate units, 30 percent public housing units and 20 percent affordable units. The RFP is being issued within the context of the Near North Redevelopment Initiative between the City of Chicago, the Chicago Housing Authority and the Cabrini Local Advisory Council.
The triangular-shaped parcel site is cur- rently occupied by an urban farm that will be relocating to a new location. It is surrounded by new residential projects, commercial structures and public open spaces.
Among the response criteria to be consid- ered will be the completeness of the submis- sion, purchase price, quality of the proposed development, responsiveness to goals of the RFP, appropriateness of the proposed use relative to the surrounding community, pro- posed design, and the experience and finan- cial capacity of the development team.
