Request for Proposals for the Development and Design of Structured Wiring/Cable Solutions for Data, Voice, Video, and Security Systems, Continuing Supply
Leon County is seeking proposals from qualified, experienced firms for the development and design of structured wiring/cable solutions for data, voice, video, and security systems within various Leon County facilities on a continuing supply basis. The scope of work will vary depending on each job. Services may include, but are not be limited to:
1. establishing new or improved communication structured cabling standards
2. planning, design, and advisement of wiring plans for existing space
3. planning, design, and advisement of wiring plans for new space
4. designing audio/visual presentation or multi-media systems
5. designing security system layouts
6. future structured wiring planning and layout
7. peer review for designs that include structured cabling, audio-visual, and/or security elements
8. administration of each activity required to implement wiring projects from start to final completion
Judicial and/or Sheriff background checks may be required of assigned staff depending on the facility where the services needed.
Design and wiring standards are to comply at a minimum with EIA/TIA and BICSI standards. Depending on the specific requirements for each project, firms are required to have Registered Communications Distribution Designers, Certified Technology Specialists, and LEED AP certification as well as experience in designing high availability data centers or Florida Emergency Operations Centers.
All professional services to be provided under this agreement shall be performed by Professionals licensed to practice in the State of Florida and in strict compliance with the Consultant's Competitive Negotiation Act, 287.055 F.S . (CCNA). Consultants providing services under this contract shall at all times be knowledgeable of the limiting thresholds of the CCNA statutes and shall insure that full compliance therewith is maintained at all times.
No firm will be considered that has any direct or indirect affiliation or financial interest in any company that manufactures, distributes, or sells any product that may be specified for the communications structured cabling systems.
Firms will be selected to provide services for two years with the County reserving the option to renew this contract for up to three additional one year periods for a possible total of five continuous years.
