Request for Proposals From Consultancy Firms with Specialization in Public Art Planning
This Request for Proposal ("RFP") identifies an opportunity for the successful Proponent to provide The City of Calgary (The City) with The City of Calgary Public Art Program Master Plan (The Plan).
The plan will convey a long range, visionary approach to public art for The City of Calgary and provide a procedural framework that addresses the Program's three streams of business:
* Civic Art Collection
* Percent for Public Art
* Land Use Policy & Planning Department (LUPP) Density Bonus Program (private development)
The development of The Plan will provide strategic direction for the Program through 2020.
Identification of potential major public art projects including site, scope, budget, timelines and implementation strategies (not limited to Percent for Art projects)
Significant stakeholder and public consultation will be required by the successful team throughout the development of The Plan.
Proposals are sought from consulting teams qualified and experienced in creating public art master plans. Teams may include a combination of visual artist, public art administrators and/or design professionals from relevant fields, but must include at least one practicing visual artist with demonstrated experience in public art.
