Request for Proposal for Website Design and Development Services
The Borough is requesting proposals for services related to its website:
ā¢ Redesign our existing web site with an updated look and feel, improving usability and
organization, and
ā¢ Implement a content management system that allows Borough staff to maintain their speciļ¬c
information within a common framework, and migrate our existing content to the new
infrastructure
ā¢ Assist in ļ¬nding an appropriate ISP for hosting the site
We are seeking to use an existing, established platform for content management. We would like
the platform selected to fulļ¬ll the following requirements:
ā¢ Uses a core technology which is readily available on most major ISPs in the United States (e.g.
PHP, Ruby, Java, ASP)
ā¢ Uses open-source code (Drupal, WordPress, CodeIgniter)
ā¢ Has the ability to extend the base platform through plugins and/or addons
ā¢ Has the ability to support multiple āthemedā looks
ā¢ Uses MySQL or PostgreSQL database
ā¢ Does not require annual software licenses
Currently, we are leaning towards using an open-source technology such as Drupal 6 or
WordPress 3, however, we are amenable to alternative open source or proprietary solutions that
fulļ¬ll the above requirements
