Request for Proposal for Pediment Murals
In September 2008, the City of Batavia will celebrate its 175th anniversary. In honor of this celebration, the Board of Library Trustees of the Batavia Public Library is seeking proposals from experienced artists / muralists to design, create, and install two pediment murals in the great hall on the upper level of the Batavia Public Library.
Theme: In honor of the 175th anniversary of the City of Batavia, one pediment mural should represent the history of Batavia in romantic images of its people and places. In honor of the Batavia Public Library, which celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2007, one pediment mural should represent the timeless love of books and reading. Both murals should inspire a sense of whimsy, cleverness, and delight.
