Warehouse Scanning Device Software
For use with Zebra TC8000



Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), a component of Department of Homeland Security (DHS), is researching innovative solutions for modernizing its handheld scanning devices used within climate controlled and unconditioned warehouse environments. As part of the research, FEMA is issuing this RFI to gather vendor information pertaining to software that can be used with the Zebra TC8000 devices to facilitate setup of screens and provide a user interface that will meet FEMA's requirements of a modern, intuitive user experience and will facilitate effective use of the devices in our Distribution Centers. FEMA is reaching out to industry to identify software product offerings for the Zebra TC8000 device that may support the agency in achieving its modernization objective.


In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 10.002(b)(2)(i) this notice is issued for the purpose of market research. This request is for planning purposes only, and does not constitute a solicitation or an indication the government will contract for the items contained in this notice. This notice is not to be construed as an acquisition Request for Proposal (RFP), nor is any commitment on the part of the government to award a contract implied, nor does the government intend to pay for any information submitted as a result of this request. The government does not reimburse respondents for any cost associated with submission of the information being requested or reimburse expenses incurred to interested parties for responses to this notice. Any response received will not be used as a proposal. FEMA is not, at this time, seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals.


Questions and requests for clarifications on this RFI must be received no later than 12:00 pm EST December 12, 2018.
