THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. The purpose is to identify sources that can provide SW&SS Division information to improve its Posturing for the Strategic Environment. The information provided in the RFI is subject to change and is not binding on the U.S. Government. The Air Force has not made a commitment to procure any of the items discussed, and release of this RFI should not be construed as such a commitment or as authorization to incur cost for which reimbursement would be required or sought. All submissions become U.S. Government property and will not be returned.

Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division (SW&SS) (AFLCMC/HBQ)
The SW&SS Division provides sustainment for several Ground-Based Radars (GBRs): Ballistic Missile Early Warning Systems (BMEWS), PAVE Phased Array Warning Systems (PAVE PAWS), Perimeter Acquisition Radar Characterization System (PARCS) Radar, and the COBRA DANE Radar.
The SW&SS Division is seeking information to improve our effort to posture for the strategic environment. The Division is seeking industry recommendations, strategies, and potential alternatives for system enhancements, capabilities and/or integration of emerging technologies associated with these legacy radar systems.
The Division sees the path towards posturing for the strategic environment through a three-phased approach. First, efforts which enable resolution of immediate sustainment issues (<2 Years: hardware & software obsolescence, low reliability assets, high maintenance and cost drivers, cyber-security), second, improving current capabilities for the near term (1-5 years), and third, development of capabilities which posture for future operational needs (5+ years).
