Work consists of furnishing all plant, labor, materials, equipment and performing all work in strict accordance with those specifications, schedules and drawings forming parts thereof, for the repair by replacement of Boilers 1 and 2. Work includes the demolition and replacement of two existing 300 BHP dual-fuel boilers with two new 200 BHP dual-fuel boilers. The existing natural gas and fuel oil lines will be replaced to accommodate the differences between the existing and new boilers. The existing flue openings will be utilized with a new transition from the new boilers to the existing roof penetrations. The existing boiler controls for the remaining two boilers will be replaced with new controls which will be the same as those used on the two new boilers. A new master control panel will be installed.
The work shall be performed by a general or mechanical contractor which has 5 years of experience in removal and installation of boilers. All work shall be accomplished in strict accordance with applicable NGA, EPA, NFPA, and OSHA requirements.
The performance period for this project is 260 days. The existing boilers cannot be taken out of service from October 15 through March 15.
The approximate cost of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000.
This work is located at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency facilities at 3200 South Second Street, which is east of Broadway and south of Arsenal Street in the City of St. Louis.
