The Authority owns and operates a 24-inch transmission pipeline that conveys potable water from the Lake Surface Water and Treatment System (SWATS) facility to various customer take points in the County. Re-coating and repairs of the Transmission Storage Tank (TST), a 75-foot diameter by 90-foot tall standpipe on the SWATS transmission pipeline, are scheduled to commence in October 2011. In order to drain the TST prior to the repair work, an isolation valve and ancillary fittings must be installed on the inlet pipe while the transmission pipeline remains in service.
