The State of Maine is seeking proposals for administration of two rental assistance programs. OAMHS is the grantee of Shelter Plus Care, a Federally funded Permanent Supported Housing program which targets homeless persons with disabilities, principally: mental illness, substance abuse, co-occurring, and HIV/AIDS. Additionally, OAMHS funds a transitional housing program, the Bridging Rental Assistance Program (BRAP). BRAP specifically targets persons with mental illness within a series of priorities. Combined, these two programs support approximately 1,400 rental assistance vouchers at any given time.
