The University’s Physical Plant department operates a Central Steam Plant (CSP) which produces saturated steam for the campus to be used for domestic hot water, building hot water, sterilization, cooking, air conditioning, and other process needs. The CSP produces steam via the following fuels: natural gas, coal, and heating oil. The objective of this request is to identify cost-effective renewable technologies and fuels which could reduce or replace the current use of coal.
