Sources Sought Notice/Request for Information (RFI

The Army Contracting Command - New Jersey (ACC-NJ) on behalf of the Combat Capabilities Development Command - Armaments Center (CCDC-AC) and Product Manager Crew Served Weapons (PMCSW) and several other program offices is seeking potential sources to supply various Remington Defense; Remington Arms Co., LLC firearms, and associated accessories and spare parts. Specific firearm systems of interest include M24 Sniper Weapon System, M24A2 Sniper Weapon System, M24A3 Sniper Weapon System, M870 Modular Combat Shotgun, the M870 Express Shotgun and the DPMS GII SASS .308 Rifle. Accessories include items to be used in conjunction with the listed models that are not firearms or components of a firearm. Spare parts include replacement factory magazines and other repair/replacement parts for above listed models.


The following specifications for each Remington system are detailed below:


Description of Remington M24 Sniper Weapon System (SWS):
For the purposes of this sources sought notice, the M24 Sniper Rifle System is defined as follows:

One (1) Leupold MK IV M3A 10x42 mm Scope in Mk IV rings
One (1) OK Weber iron sight set

The M24 Sniper Rifle is an internal magazine feed, bolt action sniper rifle system chambered for the 7.62×51mm NATO cartridge. The M24 Sniper Rifle utilizes the "long action" bolt version of the Remington 700 receiver. The "long action" allows the rifle to be re-configured for dimensionally larger cartridges up to 3.340 inches (84.84 mm) in overall length. The stock is made of a composite of Kevlar, graphite and fiberglass bound together with epoxy resins, and features an aluminum bedding block and adjustable butt plate. A detachable bipod can be attached to the stock's fore-end.

The M24A2 Sniper Rifle is a bolt action rifle chambered in 7.62x51mm. It is fed from a detachable box magazine. The M24A2 Sniper Rifle utilizes the "long action" bolt version of the Remington 700 receiver. The A2 model features top-mounted and adjustable side-mounted Picatinny rails (advertised by Remington as "MARS", or Modular Accessory Rail System), barrel modifications designed to accommodate a sound suppressor, and an improved H-S Precision PST-026 stock with adjustable cheek height and length of pull.

The M24A3 Sniper Rifle is a bolt action rifle chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum. It is fed from a detachable box magazine. The M24A3 Sniper Rifle utilizes the "long action" bolt version of the Remington 700 receiver. The rifle's action is housed in an Accuracy International Chassis. The A3 model features top-mounted and adjustable side-mounted Picatinny rails (advertised by Remington as "MARS", or Modular Accessory Rail System). The barrel is modified for an AAC muzzle brake.

The M870-24979 is a 12 gauge pump-action shotgun based on the Remington Model 870. The M870-24979 is a configuration of the standard M870 Modular Combat Shotgun that removes the 10″ and 14″ barrels and several other components from the standard offering of the MCS system.

Description of Remington M870-Express 12 Gauge Shotgun

For the purposes of this sources sought notice, the M870-Express 12 Gauge Shotgun is defined as follows:

Description of Remington DPMS GII SASS .308 Rifle
For the purposes of this sources sought notice, the DPMS GII SASS.308 Rifle is defined as follows:

The DPMS GII SASS is a gas-operated, magazine fed rifle chambered in 7.62x51mm. The DPMS GII SASS features an 18-inch fluted 416 stainless Teflon coated 1:10 twist medium contour barrel, threaded muzzle with Panther flash hider, forged 7075 T6 Anodized upper/lower receivers, Magpul PRS stock, Magpul back-up iron sights, DPMS two stage Match trigger, mid-length direct impingement gas system, Panther tactical grip and 4 rail free float tube.

Company Name.
Company Address.
Company point of contact, phone number and email address.
Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Code.
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code. Identify if the business is considered a Large, Foreign, Small or other Socio-Economic Program, based on the NAICS Code.


In responding to this RFI, respondents should provide the following information:


A detailed description of your capability to deliver the specified Remington Arms weapons. Details should include technical descriptions of the firearms and included accessories such as the quantity and capacity of magazine included with each system, available adapters, etc as well as lists of spare parts offered à la carte.


A detailed description of your ability to comply with Item Unique Identification (IUID) machine-readable information (MRI) requirements as described in MIL-STD-130, Identification Marking of U.S. Military Property and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) clause 252.211-7003. Provide any available data related to testing performed to ensure compliance with MIL-STD-130 specifically as it relates to permanency and legibility. Direct identification marking of the serialized receiver (e.g. by laser) capable of withstanding the intended life cycle should be addressed. If another method is described, that description should include an explanation of the method's relative merits and why it is the equivalent or superior.


Describe your maximum deliverable quantity of all the above Remington Systems within 60 days of an order.

All cost associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. The government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey. Not phone calls will be accepted, all requests need to be submitted via email. All information is to be submitted at NO COST or obligation to the U.S. Government. This RFI release is for U.S. Government planning purposes only and constitutes requests for exchange of information pursuant to FAR 15.201.
