Relocation Services
The Scope of Work includes, but is not limited to, providing the following services:
• Design of Relocation Plan
• Assistance to families in locating suitable, comparable housing
• Calculation of moving and related expenses as required under Section 104(d)
• Calculation of rental assistance as required under Section 104(d) if vouchers are not provided
• Advisory services, which may include mobility counseling, advocacy and referrals and information about residents’ rights under federal law
• Meet with residents collectively and individually, in person as needed
• Communicate regularly with the Aurora Housing Authority staff about the progress of relocation of residents, which may include meetings with on-site staff.
• Obtain competitive bids from moving companies; make moving arrangements with chosen moving company for residents’ belongings.
• Plan for and arrange reimbursement/payment by AHA of residents’ moving expenses.
• Find comparable housing for residents to be relocated, including presenting area options.
• Educate residents, when appropriate, on applying for housing and interviewing potential new landlords. .
