Rehabilitation of Bridge
The project will be bid as a rehabilitation of the existing bridge due to current deficiencies. The work will include replacing all roadway compression seals, installing neoprene drainage troughs and drainage basins under all roadway joints, repairing cracks and spalls on the concrete parapets and bridge deck, clearing the scupper and drainage pipes, repairing spalls on the soffit of the concrete deck near the roadway joints, applying epoxy based concrete sealer and surface coating on top of the deck, cleaning and painting the structural steel, installing anchor bolt wedge plates at the interior fixed bearings, installing a drip edge under the deck overhang, repairing all cracks, spalls, and delaminated areas on the piers, strengthening the pier caps with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP), applying an epoxy protective coating to the pier caps, and adding thrie beam traffic barrier attachments at all four corners of the bridge. The work will be using staged construction to perform the work using portable traffic signals and flagger control.
