The Department, on behalf of the State Emergency
Response Commission (SERC), is seeking proposals for a Regional Hazardous Materials Planning Study covering the Northeast part of the State.
This study is intended to inform and initiate a repeating cyclical planning process and is the first of seven (7) that will encompass the
entire State over a five (5) to seven (7) year period. It is the intent of the SERC to consolidate the funding that has previously gone
to individual county level Local Emergency Planning Committees (LEPCs) into regional studies in order to consolidate and leverage
the funding yet retain the local responsibility for planning. The intent is that the findings of the regional study inform and facilitate the
local planning process.
