Regional Economic Development Data Services
Data Services Criteria
1. Business Data. Data services are being requested that provide information about businesses such as location, contact information, facility size, location type, industry type, and NAICS classification.
2. Geospatial Analysis and Mapping of Business Data. Data services are being requested that enable businesses to be mapped on a mapping platform that is either compatible with ArcGIS or similar to a GIS mapping platform. The region seeks to be able to perform geospatial analysis using business data.
3. Demographic Data. Data services are being requested that provide demographic information for the five-county region such as population counts, age of population, gender of population, race and ethnicity of population, household types, housing occupancy, housing tenure, housing units in structure, year structure built, housing value, school enrollment, educational attainment, disability status, place of birth, language spoken at home, national origin, employment status, occupation, industry, income, poverty status, home ownership costs, gross rent, and other common demographic information.
4. Geospatial Analysis and Mapping of Demographic Data. Data services are being requested that enable demographic information to be mapped on a mapping platform that is either compatible with ArcGIS or similar to a GIS mapping platform. The region seeks to be able to perform geospatial analysis using demographic data.
5. Retail Data. Data services are being requested that provide information about retail business development such as retail business locations, drive time areas, consumer preference data, and market potential for retail services.
6. Geospatial Analysis and Mapping of Retail Data. Data services are being requested that enable retail data to be mapped on a mapping platform that is either compatible with ArcGIS or similar to a GIS mapping platform. The region seeks to be able to perform geospatial analysis using retail data.
7. Economic Impact Estimate Data. Data services are being requested that enable estimates to be generated of the economic impacts of different changes to the regional economy. Changes to be modeled include job growth in different sectors, job loss in different sectors, attracting new businesses, and losing businesses.
